WHO IS KALBE FARMA?

PT KALBE Farma Tbk. Indonesia is one of the Southeast Asia’s largest listed pharmaceutical company. Kalbe Farma’s main business focus rests on four divisions: prescription pharmaceuticals, consumer health products, nutritionals, and distribution and logistics. Kalbe Farma which also has a great reputation national wide and international market. In the international market, the Company has established its footprint in ASEAN and Africa countries, positioning Kalbe as a national pharmaceutical company with a competitive edge in the export market.

Dr. Boenjamin Setiawan is the founder of Kalbe Farma. He was a salaried worker before founding a Kalbe Farma out of a garage in 1966 with his brothers.

In 1966, PT KALBE Farma Tbk.,was established in Jakarta, Indonesia with a vision to become the nation’s best global healthcare company. Through their persistence and perseverance, in 1971, Kalbe established a new factory in the Pulomas area, East Jakarta.

As of 2021, Kalbe’s business operations spread through 41 companies, including subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates, supported by 16,235 employees

This set of achievements position Kalbe as the largest publicly-listed pharmaceutical company in Southeast Asia, commanding a market capitalization of Rp76 trillion and Rp26,261 billion sales turnover by end of 2021.

Kalbe International is an international marketing company mainly handles the trading/export transaction of total Kalbe Farma’s group of business. This focused, aligned with the shift of strategy, is adjusted accordingly by transforming the organization from what used to be a trading company into a multi-national corporation that controls the whole value chain.

Today, Kalbe Farma has operated in more than 40 branches spread throughout Indonesia and other countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Maldives, Ghana, and Nigeria.
